This is an important meeting featuring guest speakers from the Wassenaar Police Department who will focus on day-to-day security and provide practical tips to safeguard your home and valuables. Mon. Oct. 30, 10:00 – 12:00: Tulip Planting Workshop - Join us for a field trip to Overdevest Tulpen & Zo. We will have our own private tour led by owner, Kees Overdevest, who will tell us about the history of his farm, the last tulip farm left in this area, and explain the tulip growing process. Please be sure to dress warmly, as this trip will be mainly outside and in unheated areas. Please make note if children are attending that there is not enough space for strollers in the greenhouse. The candy-collecting monsters have been well-fed. Costumes have been swapped. Come and collect treats from 30 Funky Trunks! Win prizes in the spooky game zone, explore the carved pumpkin patch, and VOTE for your favorite! Dinner time? Munch on some delicious yumminess from PofferChickies, POPS, and DeKoffiebak! The event will be held rain or shine. It will be a FULL MOON! DARE TO BE THERE!

Glitter - With Halloween quickly approaching, we find it everywhere: in costumes, accessories, face painting, stationary...You can love it and hate it at the same time. It's beautiful but also ends up everywhere and it's really bad for the environment. Its impact is serious enough for the EU to institute a ban and adopt new strict policies against microplastics. What can YOU do?

Oct. 27: Frightnight - The Oostdorp neighborhood in Wassenaar is hosting its annual Frightnight. There will be a haunted monastery in the sports hall next to the big playground at Dr Mansveltkade. Afterward, children will be able to trick-or-treat through the neighborhood. Wristbands (kids only) are now for sale for €1 at Sylvia’s Feestwinkel, Langstraat 69. More information.
Sat. Dec. 10: The Nutcracker - Presented by Degas International Dance Academy - This holiday tradition and family-friendly production of ‘The Nutcracker’ is a wonderful opportunity to inspire and share arts & culture. Featuring music by Tchaikovsky, professional as well as pre-professional and student performers, beautiful costumes, and magical digital backdrops. Tickets are €37 for adults, and €25 for children under 18 (includes intermission drink) and are available online.
