Sat., Nov. 19, 10:00-14:00: Winter Bazaar
Spread some Holiday cheer and check everyone off your list at this free event. The ASH Winter Bazaar will be the perfect opportunity to explore a wonderful array of gifting ideas from local vendors. From jewelry and handmade toys to books and freshly baked goodies, there will be something for everyone. There will also be an exclusive opportunity for a festive mini-photo shoot! Ideal for holiday cards.

Trunk or Treat Winners
The car entries were each varied and unique. The three top cars, as selected by Dr. Lowe, were 1st place - Zombie School by the Ring and Westlund families, 2nd place - Spider Tent by the Schwarz and Ferris families, and 3rd place - Cow Farm by the Riker family.

PTA Updates
International Festival
The theme for this year's international festival is "Culture and Colors." The International Committee is looking for volunteers leading up to the event, to help coordinate various activities, individual country displays/presentations, community involvement, etc. If you would like to help, please sign up here.
International Festival Logo Contest
The ASH International Festival will be held Sat., March 25, 2023, and we need your help creating the logo, showcasing the theme "Cultures and Colors." Logo ideas can be presented as a rough sketch in any picture format. Ideas should be submitted to ptointfestival@ash.nl no later than Mon., Dec. 5.

You asked and we listened! Along with all of our classics, we are proud to introduce NEW ASH Gear available NOW for purchase! Thank you to the many students, teachers, and parents for your suggestions and support. This is just the beginning. We're already ordering more new items, so don't worry, we got you! Go to www.pto.ash.nl/spiritwear to order (you can pick up your order in the Spirit Wear Room near the Middle School office) or shop the collection in person Tuesdays from 15:00-16:00. We also have LOTS of tees, sweatshirts, and gear for our little Trojans, ages 0-6, and clearance items. Just ask us!
Community Events
Ukrainian Collection Drive
ASH is organizing a collection drive to support families living in Ukraine. Items requested: Non-perishable food products (pasta, cereals, canned food (no glass jars), baby food, sweets, etc.); Hygiene products for both children and adults (soap, shampoo, shower gel, diapers, sanitary items, wet wipes); Towels, bed linen and warm blankets; Seasonal children's and adult clothes; and Kitchenware (pots and pans, plates, cups, cutlery). You can drop off donations Nov. 3-14 from 07:45-08:30 (Main entrance and ECC atrium) and 15:30-16:15 (Main entrance only). Volunteers are also needed to work at the collection tables and sorting.
Dutch for Expats® (Absolute Beginners) - Level 1
This seven-week course is meant for students with no knowledge of Dutch. Students will work with the course book "Totaal," an elementary course for foreigners with a higher education background. The objective of the program is to acquire a good knowledge of everyday Dutch, with a focus on speaking and on listening skills. This course will bring you from level A0 to A1 (Common European Framework). Classes will be Wed., 09:00-11:00, beginning Nov. 2. Yoga Classes
Juli Skyum is offering mixed-level yoga classes Wednesdays from 20:00-21:00 (Voorschoten) and Fridays from 09:00-10:00 (Wassenaar). With more than a decade of experience spanning Asia, the U.S., and Europe, her classes are alignment-based Hatha and Flow style. You will stretch, strengthen, balance, and flow guided by your breath, including modifications as needed to keep you safe and options to challenge yourself. What to Do on the Weekend?
Repairs to the Windlust windmill have been completed and The Municipality of Wassenaar is hosting an open house on Sat., Nov. 12. Tours will be offered from 13:00-16:00. There will also be a band, children's craft area, and refreshments. The mill dates back to 1668 and is one of the oldest active mills in the Netherlands. For more information.
