The PTA Update - Dec. 11, 2022

Updated: Jan 22, 2023

December 11, 2022

We wish you a wonderful winter break and happy holidays.

The next issue will arrive in your inbox on Jan. 8, 2023.

Parent-Staff Talent Show

Save the Date - Feb. 11, 2023, 15:00-17:00

Usually, our children are the ones taking the stage to perform for us, singing, dancing, acting, and playing instruments—you’ve been to their concerts! But what if, for once, it is WE who perform for THEM? Can you sing? Play an instrument? Juggle? Act silly in a sketch? Do magic tricks? Anything that can be shown on stage? Now is your time to shine. Solo, duet, and ensemble acts are welcome. Students can accompany, but adults must be the stars. Sign up now! The deadline to sign up is Jan. 27. For questions about possible acts or other information email José Beltrán at josebelt@gmail.com.

International Festival

The ASH International Festival committee is continuing to accept Country Team volunteers to represent their nations during the festival on March 25, 2023. So far, 30 out of the 75 countries represented by ASH families have volunteered to set up booths, create raffle baskets, present performances, or cooking demonstrations, and/or contribute to the annual cookbook. If you would like to participate or want to know if a certain country is already represented, please email ptoifcountries@ash.nl. There will also be two online information sessions if you want to learn more before deciding to participate. Mon., Dec. 12, 20:30 or Wed., Dec. 14, 08:30. You can join in at meet.google.com/bhe-vaho-ywb.

Due to the complex logistics involved in this volunteer-run event, the Country Team list will need to be finalized by Fri. Dec. 16. Please don't hesitate to reach out to ptoifcountries@ash.nl now, even if you are not sure about your ability to participate. Volunteers can walk you through the process and help you decide what is doable.

Volunteer Needed

The PTA needs a volunteer to help with meeting invitations, writing agendas, and taking minutes at general meetings. Can you help? Email PTA President Frances Joseph at ptopres@ash.nl with questions or to volunteer.
