Let's Show our Gratitude to Teachers, Staff May 3-7! It's not the year we all planned, but it's the year we all got! Normally, we would celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week with food and fanfare provided by grateful parents, but, alas, the multiple challenges created by the pandemic have caused us to change course. This year, the PTO will instead facilitate the purchase of a large outdoor item in honor of the teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to educate our children without missing a beat. Parents will help decide what that item will be by voting for their favorite option in our ASH PTO Facebook poll, open now until Sunday, May 2! The choices are:
Buddy bench (special seating for making new friends)
Large tree (not a sapling)
Sculpture (honoring the core values of ASH)
Write-in option (your idea for consideration!)
For a more personalized touch throughout the week of May 3-7, families are encouraged to send handmade or personalized cards, drawings, crafts, digital messages, and/or short videos of appreciation directly to teachers. Don’t forget to include special teachers, too! Here's a link to some creative ideas to help your child show gratitude from a distance.
