Mohnkuchen / Poppyseed cake

Poppy seeds are used in different cakes in Austria. It gives the cake a special taste and is well loved by children and grown-ups through out the country. This recipe is ideal for having fun 30 min in the kitchen with your kids. It is very easy and gives a great outcome.

Instructions

1. heat the oven to 180 degrees C
2. choose your favourite baking tray and coat the inside with butter
3. take a spoon of breadcrumbs and distribute evenly into the baking tray
4. mix all remaining ingredients together
5. pour the liquid into the baking tray and put into the oven
6. check the cake after 30min baking with a toothpick
7. take out of the oven when the toothpick comes out clean
8. let it rest for 30min
9. add a little bit of powdered sugar on the top

Ingredients

1 cup of grinded poppy seeds (you will find a pack in the basket)
1 cup of flour
1 cup of natural yogurt
1 cup of white crystal sugar
1/2 cup of sunflower oil
3 eggs
1 pk of vanillia sugar
1 pk of baking powder
tiny bit of butter for the baking tray
tiny bit of breadcrumbs for baking tray
bit of powdered sugar
